Satan wants to divert us from His Word. The enemy does not want us to be studying the Bible and spending time in a relationship with Him. In these few week’s of not writing blogs, I was having a hard time writing word’s that He always give’s me. I asked the Lord for help and for inspiration and as always He supplies generously.
Spiky thorns can sometimes enter our hearts and it is not a good thing. We always want to keep our heart pure before the Lord and for His glory. Psalm 51:10 says,”Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Satan spews out spiky thorns & we must hold onto and cling to the Lord. We are to stand up for the Lord. Don’t let the enemy have control or bind us up. God is in control and everything is in His hands. Satan tries to tempt us into those luscious & plump berries…just as Eve was tempted in the Garden of Eden.
He tempts us in to sin & our flesh is so weak we can fall into the trap so quickly. Thank you Lord for all of your GRACE! We need it so much!! Ephesian’s 4:7 declares,”But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.”
Those thorn’s can really tear us down and stop us from spending time with the Lord. We mustn’t let Satan have the victory.
The Word of God is a mirror to our heart that helps us to see what pruning that is needed. Sometimes in our Christians walk with the Lord we can have bitterness in our heart or sin and we must ask the Lord to forgive our sins and wash us clean.
As we look into our heart to see what’s really in it…. then its’ time for the work to begin. It is time to pluck away the thorns to rid the sin from our life and be set free and enjoy the Lord. Remember, He has forgiven us and His love endures forever!
Psalm 100:5 says,”For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
He knows our heart and if there is something not right in our heart, we simply can ask Him to help us with it. He will speak to us through His Word, through people, & through spending time with Him.
I challenge you this week to take a look at your heart and hear His voice.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
