Listen to His voice. Always be ready to hear His voice. We never know what God is going to tell us.
Listen to His voice of gladness. Jeremiah 33:11 says,”The voice of joy and the voice of gladness...The voice of those who say, ‘Give thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the LORD is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting…”
We must be ready to listen to the Lord.. If you want to hear Him speak, we must be quiet and focused on what He is saying. ~ Prayer is how to begin a conversation with God. Think of it as saying "hello."
Listening to God requires focusing on Him. Does the Lord hear us? 1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” King David, author of most of the book of Psalms, gave us a model for meeting with God, "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul" (Psalm 143:8).
We need to seek God's direction in the morning…. at the beginning of the day. Beginning each day fresh with God. Morning is the best time to meet with the Lord. Psalm 5:3 says,”In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” When we listen to God and receive His instruction, we must want to do His will. Psalm 40:8 says, "I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." God honors the heart that is fully surrendered to Him.
Do you desire God's will for your life above every other desire? If you do, you can trust that He will direct your path. Listen to His message, and be quick to obey. Write down what He tells you and be ready to share it and to do it.
When you listen to God and obey Him, you will discover a life that is full and rich. I challenge you this week to keep your heart on listening the Lord! Let’s listen to His voice of gladness!
