Take The Path
God tells us that we are to take the path that the Lord has shown us.
Has the Lord shown you what road you are suppose to take? You need to follow the Lord’s path!
Psalm 25:4 says, ”Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.”
Find God’s will for your life. It will bring blessings over you. Take His path…. Don’t get tempted into this dark world. It will bring you nothing, but depression. A couple of ways to stay on the path with the Lord.:
Be In Prayer…. When you are in prayer, you are communicating with God. If you don’t know what path the Lord wants you on, ask Him in prayer, because God hears our prayers and He cares for you! The pilgrims sought the Lord in prayer for 9 hours a day. We need to be a people of prayer! Psalm 6:9 declares, ”The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer.”
2. Listen To What The Lord Put’s In Your Spirit. We need to have time in the Lord ’s presence every day. Ask the Lord what He wants for you and how we can glorify Him. We can’t be too busy not to hear the Lord. John 10:27 says, ”My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
3. God Uses His People. God flashes His light through His people now. For example, let’s say you ask someone for direction and all of a sudden God makes it known to you. Your eyes will be opened to a light and you get your direction. It’s PHENOMENAL! We are His precious gems and jewels to Him and God uses people like you and me to help others get direction. BUT…always confirm this with the Lord!
4. His Word! Another way God shows us His light is through His Word. It says in Psalm 19:105, “Your Word is a lamp unto my path and a light unto my feet.” You will get perfect direction thorough God’s Word., When you open your Bible and do your devotion. He will find that perfect route for us. This is the benefit of being in God’s Word day and night.. Joshua 1:8 teaches us, ”Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Charles Spurgeon said, “Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.” The most important thing we need to do as Christians is to read God’s Word and spend time with Him. You need to be seeking the Lord asking Him what He wants you to do in your life. We should be in God’s Word day and night so that we might get PERFECT direction from our Father. He will speak to you through His amazing Word!
5. Our Hearts. Not only do we get this perfect direction through God’s people and His Word, but also upon our Hearts. Jeremiah 31:33 says, ”I will write my will on your heart.” God will write His will upon your heart and give amazing personal direction. How does this happen in your heart? You will know. God will tell you in your heart. He knows what your desires are. It says in Psalm 37:4, ”Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” You may think, what if I interpret what’s on my heart wrong and I go in a bad direction? If you have a heart of good character and want to know His awesome plan, the integrity of your heart will lead you. Don’t be afraid to go after God’s direction. Have faith and trust in the Lord. It says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Many people don’t move in God’s wonderful direction, because they don’t have faith. If your heart is right and you asked God, then move out and He will lead you. If you are moving in the wrong direction, He will protect you and change your direction! He is a merciful God!
The Lord will lead you in ways you can’t even imagine. If I am not hearing right or make a wrong turn, I know that He will protect me and correct me. That is His promise to us. God will come through to me and will change me to His right plan. Whatever the Lord asks of you- you do it with a full heart. God made it so simple for us to hear from our Father. I encourage you to read your Bible everyday, because you never know when God is going to give you direction. Let’s begin our journey with our Father!
