I have two gerbils. They are both sisters and they love each other so much! We got them about a year ago and they were so small. We named them Sweet Potato and Matzah. I have to say we named them wrong, because Matzah is so big and Sweet Potato is so small. It is so sweet when they cuddle up and they are loving on each other. Just like the gerbils, we should be loving others with the love of Christ. No matter what it is, we have to show them true love that they probably never felt before. 1 John 4:7-8 says,"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love." Let us show His love so we can add more light into this dark world.
The gerbils are always so busy! They are either chewing hay, making a nest, sleeping, or eating. Proverbs 6:6 says,"Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise." This is what God's Word says and we need to take it to heart. We can't be lazy. We have to be busy for God doing things for Him! Let us share the Good News so that people can see the light and know that they need a Savior and when we get to heaven the Lord can say,"Well done good and faithful servant." To God be all the glory!! Go big or go home! William Carey was a missionary to India and he translated the Bible into Bengali, Sanskrit, and numerous other languages and dialects. I wanted to share with you one my favorite quotes from him. It says,"Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God." Let's be busy for God!
Another thing that my gerbils do is that they stomp. You can hear them all through the kitchen. When they stomp, it is a warning to other gerbils. When they see a bird or cat or a loud sound they will start stomping. One time it went on for a really long time and we didn't even know what it was. Like the gerbils, we need to warn other Christians. Maybe it is something that is not godly or warning them about what's going on in this world. We need to as Christians stand up and be a light in this dark world. Christians today are getting themselves into this dark society, but we are different we are set apart. So I challenge you this weekend to take time to pray with the Lord and ask and really pray with all your heart for revival. This can only happen with God, because He is the one in control! 1 Chronicles 16:11 says,"Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always." Let's seek His face!
